Privacy policy

Aquendium's guides, species pages, and calculators need no account and collect nothing about you. This policy covers the optional My Tanks feature, where you choose to save data to an account.
What we store
If you create an account and use My Tanks, we store only what you enter:
- Your tanks (name, volume, set-up date, and any notes you add).
- Your dated water readings (temperature, pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, hardness, and notes).
- Your stock list (which species you keep, and how many).
This data is private to your account. It is used only to show your tanks back to you and to check your readings against the species you keep. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising.
Accounts and sign-in
Sign-in is handled by Clerk, a dedicated authentication provider. Clerk stores your email address and securely manages your password or Google sign-in. Aquendium never sees or stores your password. Clerk also sets a cookie so you stay signed in between visits; this is the only cookie My Tanks needs, and there are no tracking or advertising cookies.
Where your data lives
Your aquarium data is stored in a Cloudflare database, on the same infrastructure that serves this site. It is keyed to your account and is only ever returned to you when you are signed in.
Exporting your data
You can download everything stored for your account at any time as a single file from the export link (you must be signed in). It includes all your tanks, readings, and stock in a plain, portable format.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account from the account menu in My Tanks (your avatar, then manage account). Deleting your account also removes all of your tanks, readings, and stock from our database. Individual tanks, readings, and stock entries can be deleted at any time from within My Tanks.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date above will be updated. Material changes to how your data is handled will be made clear on this page.
